Welcome to A2 Media Studies

Welcome back to the sixth form!

Now that AS is behind us, you need to begin the A2 component. You now need to create a new blog and you may need an additional email address for this.

Create one if necessary and then create a new blog page - please call it: yournameA2media.blogspot.com

Pass
this new blog address on to me asap, so that I can link it to this blog.

The second thing to do is to choose your brief. All of the briefs are listed in the new handbook. You need to choose one which will have a combination of media components.

You choose the one main media focus (film, audio, print, or web based.)

  • music video
  • film trailer
  • advertising package for a new product or service
  • computer / video game
  • soap opera trailer
  • material for a children's TV drama
  • extract from a TV documentary
  • two pages from a local newspaper
  • website for a new TV channel
  • a five minute short film
  • first level of a new computer game
  • extract from a local TV programme
  • extract from a radio play
You will need to write a proposal and develop your ideas. Alongside the main product, you will need to produce two ancillary pieces using a different media form.
